Daycare Used as Front for Dog Fighting Ring

This animal advocate has to begrudgingly admit that despite Michael Vick not actually having done time for animal cruelty, his case has brought dog fighting way out into the open.  Day after day, I see more and more news reports about dog fighting rings being busted, people actually reporting suspicious activities and law enforcement are actually pursuing search warrants for suspected dog fighting activities.

Today’s news about the latest dog fighting ring busted is truly frightening.  A licensed daycare facility in suburban Chicago was actually used as a cover for a dog fighting operation.  Children on swing sets playing in the backyard are no more then a few feet away from where dogs are being pitted against each other fight to their last breath.  It baffles me why the woman who is running the daycare wasn’t charged for harboring the criminal activity as well as subjecting those children to possible grievous harm.

The story is horrifying and the pictures are ugly and graphic.  My sensitivities are miserably assaulted as I’m sure yours are too.  But I won’t look away.  I will continue to report on and campaign against dog fighting until the entire dog fighting community is wiped out and in jail.

Walk a mile in these dog’s paws for just a second. Can you feel it? It’s absolutely heartbreaking.  Please help me to banish dog fighting forever.  Speak out and be part of the solution.
